[ ANCIENT TOWNHOUSE ]
The ancient hamlet of 'Valdazze' is a multiple dwelling aggregate, in a state of ruins, located within the Apennine promontory on the side of the Tuscan region.
The village dates back to the 18th century and was home to a small community of shepherds and woodcutters.
During the Second World War, this building was destroyed by aerial bombardment and today is still in the state of ruins.
Even though the aggregate is largely collapsed, one can still read intact the layout and the relationship with the surroundings.
This place was home to a self-sufficient community of which the large stone basins collecting spring water still remain intact and visible.
Charm, mystery and history characterise this site, making it unique and timeless.
It is immersed in the green of the promontory surrounded by centuries-old woods with an exclusive property that goes from street level to the river further downstream.
There is also a recovery project for the aggregate developed by an important architectural studio, which envisaged the valorisation of the site with the reconstruction of the volumes that are now missing.
Due to their position and peculiarity, the buildings in the Borgo are well suited to be restored and used for tourist accommodation activities.
